Who We Are

     The Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is a professional membership organization serving Oklahoma’s law enforcement executives.

      The OACP is among the largest and ost respected state-level law enforcement and public safety executive organization in the United States. Our portfolio of training programs for all agencies, professional services and public affairs programs places the OACP among the elite law enforcement executive organizations in the country.

      The Association is an integral part of the law enforcement community, and works closely with our colleagues at all levels of goverment. At OACP, we believe that the best way to share the potiential of our Association is to unleash the potential of our members.

       The benefits that OACP offers members and partners are uniwue to progressive professional associations;leadership, learning, vision, knowledge, ideas, influence and relationships. Because of this, the most important factors in determining our success are the skills, abilities, intelligence and initiative of OACP members, member leaders and partners.

The membership roster is a virtual “who’s who” list of notable municipal, campus. corporate, federal, state, tribal, rail and air law enforcement executives living and working in communities throughout Oklahoma.

Since OACP represents all ranks of law enforcement, OACP has become a diversified membership which includes all aspects of the criminal justice system.

Purpose of OACP

Since OACP represents all ranks of law enforcement, OACP has become a diversified membership which includes all aspects of the criminal justice system.

OACP’s mission has continued to grow to include:

  • Develop closer official and personal cooperation between chiefs, executive directors, law enforcement and governmental agencies.
  • Propose, support and provide information on legislation relative to thebetterment of law enforcement and the communities they respresent.
  • Promote professionalism, training and public relations.
  • A legislative Committee has been established to actively work with state legislators on laws and issues that affect our members and the citizens of Oklahoma.
  • A Professional Development Committee has been formed to establish an Oklahoma Executive Leadership Command Institute,
  • Disseminate to its members timely information relative to law enforcement.
